Embassy Visits
We send delegations of students to embassies in Canberra. Past delegations have been sent to the US, Spanish, Israeli, Mexican & Cambodian embassies.
Careers & Academic Events
We run academic talks, careers panels and breakfasts with politicians, NGOs and organisations such as DFAT and UN Women.
Social Club
If you want to get to know other students studying IR come along to our range of social events and weekly drinks @ ANU Bar.
What We Do
Who We Are
The ANU International Relations Society endeavours to engage students at the Australian National University (particularly those studying international relations) with Canberra's diplomatic, political and NGO community. We are one of the largest student-led organisations at ANU. Our membership base is comprised of students from all disciplines, academic staff, alumni and others within the ANU community.

From the President
HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE ANU INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS SOCIETY!
We are a group of students passionate about international relations and using the knowledge from our studies to make a difference.
Whilst we love engaging with IR through our studies we also recognise that it is both important and rewarding to have a practical understanding of how IR can be applied beyond the walls of university libraries. What we do is aim to engage our members in Canberra's thriving diplomatic, political and NGO/humanitarian community to give you guys a bit of a taste of what IR can be like! We run careers panels, embassy visits, talks by academics, breakfasts with guest speakers, 'women in international relations' focused events and so much more with organisations like DFAT, UN Women, delegates from the Parliamentary Press Gallery, politicians and diplomats.

We're one of the largest student organisations on campus and always welcome new members. However you're connected to the ANU community, if you too are passionate about international relations and the way you can use an understanding of IR to make a difference in the world, we'd love to have you on board.
